Low Carb Weight Loss
A study carried out in one of the most prestigious universities in the United States examined the weight loss effect of low carbohydrate diet. In the study done 150 participants were put on a controlled diet. 50 people were put on a low fat diet, 50 on a low carbohydrate diet of the same calories as that of the low fat participants and a third group of 50 on a low carbohydrate diet with 300 more calories than the 2 other groups. The results were stunning at that time.
All the 3 groups lost weight. The once on a low fat diet lost 17 lbs average on a span of 12 weeks as well as the people on a low carb diet with the same amount of calories lost 30 lbs average. But what surprised them was that the group with more calorie intake. They lost more than the low fat and lower calorie diet group. This group lost 23 lbs average.
This may be a small scale study but for me this shows how effective a low carb weight loss diet really is. This is also the idea behind the well-known Atkins diet. This form of diet gives rapid and undeniable results.
