In the study done 150 participants were put on a controlled diet. 50 people were put on a low fat diet, 50 on a low carbohydrate diet of the same calories as that of the low fat participants and a third group of 50 on a low carbohydrate diet with 300 more calories than the 2 other groups. The results were stunning at that time. </p>
<p>All the 3 groups lost weight. The once on a low fat diet lost 17 lbs average on a span of 12 weeks as well as the people on a low carb diet with the same amount of calories lost 30 lbs average. But what surprised them was that the group with more calorie intake. They lost more than the low fat and lower calorie diet group. This group lost 23 lbs average.</p>
<p>This may be a small scale study but for me this shows how effective a low carb weight loss diet really is. This is also the idea behind the well-known Atkins diet. This form of diet gives rapid and undeniable results. </p>
<p>If you still doubt this try the low carb weight loss program for 2 short weeks. A few easy recipes to try would be the cauliflower rice, baby corn in butter, salt, pepper and cheese and sautéed mushrooms. These will substitute for your carbohydrate intakes like rice and breads.  </p>

<p>There was a walking program that I hesitantly joined to try and loss weight. I was desperate at the time and I thought it was better than doing nothing. Initially I thought it was an easy program.</p>

<p>The first session that we had the instructor told us to walk. We were given a path to follow and in a given amount of time we were asked to record where we were. There was just one rule. We were asked not to run or jog in any way. We could walk as fast as we can but no jogging or running motion was to be made.</p>
<p>The following sessions were basically the same but each time a new rule was applied. The amount of time we spent walking was increased and the distance we had to cover was increased relative to the first distance that we did on a given time.</p>
<p>As the program progressed I realized it was more difficult to achieve a certain distance in a given time by just walking fast than by running or jogging. This is where I realized that this program was effective.</p>
<p>By the end of the program I lost a significant amount of weight and a lot of inches. And as a final proof that the walking for weight loss program was really beneficial we were asked to join a marathon. No more rules were in place. We could run or jog as much as we can. You cannot believe how easy it was to finish that marathon. It just proved how my stamina and body as a whole were conditioned by the program.</p>

<p>First, you must condition your mind. Have your self a set goal. For example, I want to lose 10 lbs or 4 inches off my tummy. It is good to have an attainable goal. Also, your discipline will be tested in these times. Food will taste better. You would want to eat more.  Exercise will be such a drag. But you need to have a strong mind to overcome all these temptations. </p>
<p>Next, you need to believe that you can achieve your goal. Forget about the failures in the past. Forget about the traumatic experiences that lead you to those love handles. Know in your heart that you are beautiful and you can improve your well-being.  </p>
<p>The rest will follow. The physical aspect is the easiest to alter once you have set your mind and heart to a goal. Eat the right food at the right amount. Deep inside everyone knows what is good for them and what is not, what is too much and what is enough. Eat right and do exercises. </p>
<p>The important thing is you keep all aspects of yourself on your goal and nothing will be impossible. Believe that you are what you make yourself and what you see yourself and others will begin to see you the same way.</p>
