A study carried out in one of the most prestigious universities in the United States examined the weight loss effect of low carbohydrate diet. In the study done 150 participants were put on a controlled diet. 50 people were put on a low fat diet, 50 on a low carbohydrate diet of the same calories as that of the low fat participants and a third group of 50 on a low carbohydrate diet with 300 more calories than the 2 other groups.
